Sorry it's been a while since I last blogged, I haven't had much time to get onto a computer.

In the week leading up to the royal wedding, what is your opinion on the whole thing?

Personally, I think its been in the media far to much. I mean the idea of having the day off to come together and be proud of your country is good. Unfortunately this isn't what the media is mass broadcasting. Their main focus is on the dress, attire, etc. Isn't this just materialism? Advertising so that women all over the world can have a wedding just like William and Kate's.

The other thing I don't understand is why it is being broadcast in America. The U.S.A is no longer part of commonwealth, so why is it important to them? I think it comes back to my first point. That the wedding has become more of a forum for companies to advertise rather then national pride.

    Yeah I live in the USA and honestly don't care at all about the royal wedding. I suppose a lot of Americans feel the same way

    The majority of us really don't care in the UK either. There will be a big crowd still.

    I think the wedding is an important world wide event, but the comotion about it has gone on way too much. I'm sick of my favorite websites/blogs writing the dumbest stories about it just to get peoples attention. Like on Yahoo! Shine's blog they were posting pictures of dresses they think she should wear. Why do we care about a hypothetical situation? The wedding is a nice thing going on but I cant wait for it to be over so people stop talking about it.

    I think the wedding is utterly unimportant. Literally. I don't care. I will never care. There's no reason to. They're just people to me. Random people.

    I'll never understand the obsession with the royals outside of the UK (or inside it for that matter). We as a society DESPISE our polital leaders and yet even in the US and Australia you can still find people who put these useless inbred figureheads up on a pedestal.
